Probably my favorite hike ever. Wildflowers and views for days! At one point I could see a lake in the distance, big beautiful snowy peaks on the horizon and wild flowers across a vast meadow below me. It was amazing and have wanted to go back since.

Can’t wait to go back. Such a nice drive had to remove a tree from the road but totally worth the drive.

This particular trailhead is an entrance to a bike trail that leads to the summit of Tire Mountain. The trailhead closer to the meadows is located at 43.83725, -122.48280.

If you want the views and the meadow hike before the summit, you want what Google calls Alpine Trailhead #3, with an address of NF-1911, Lowell, OR 97452. You should just be able to search “Alpine Trailhead #3” and find this, and Windy Pass, Oregon should also work.

It is a bit hard to find the proper location, so use the coordinates with your GPS.

The hike through the woods was nice though, just watch out for bikers!
