Promised Land State Park Beechwood Camping Area in Greentown, Pennsylvania, is a pet-friendly destination ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and their dogs. This scenic park features spacious RV and tent camping sites—about half of which welcome your canine companions. The grounds are well-kept, and you’ll find modern amenities like electric hookups, clean restrooms, and warm showers. Water is available at communal pumps, making it easy to care for you and your pets during your stay.
The park is a hub for recreation, with hiking trails through woodlands, two lakes for kayaking or fishing, and a public beach for swimming in permitted months. Dogs are allowed in most areas on leash, so you can enjoy long walks on pet-friendly trails and relaxing lakeside sunsets with your pooch. Staff are attentive to maintenance and cleanliness, ensuring a pleasant experience for all visitors. Whether hiking, paddling, or socializing at a family campsite, this campground offers a unique and dog-friendly retreat in the Poconos.
The Beechwood section is basically for RV camping, but tents are allowed. Sites have electricity but water is only available from pumps located in each section. Of about 100 sites half permit dogs. Bathrooms have warm showers and are cleaned each morning.
Quiet camping the end of August in Beechwood campground. Amenities are within driving distance. Beach and swimming is crowded as it is a public day use area. Lake was not accessible from our location except for fishing. Hiking is a lot of tree roots and rocks. Bathrooms are an A+
It’s a really nice park. The grounds are kept, and the lot spaces are, for the most part, all good with modern electricity hookups. While each site does not have its own water hookup, there are a few taps that can be accessed by the majority of the sites. There is lots to do nearby with the large lake, dam, a beach for swimming, kayaking, hiking, and more. The only slight negative is that the bathroom facilities are showing their age a bit. But they are still quite servisable. Cell service is spotty at best, and there is no WIFI
Had a pleasant stay. Staff was great and friendly and answered any questions in a nice manner. One child or childish person did make a mess in the mens bathroom. It would get cleaned up and he would go back in and do it again. Staff did try thier best to be on top of it though. Too bad they couldn’t find out who it was. Other than that everything else was great!
