Dog Anxiety: Causes, Signs & What Actually Helps
Many dogs show clear signs of dog anxiety, including pacing, panting, and seeking constant reassurance. If your dog paces, whines, […]

Alamosa Dog Park is a new addition to the pet-friendly parks of Albuquerque, located just off Airport Dr SW. This spacious dog park offers two separate areas for dogs to run and play off-leash, catering to a variety of pups and their owners seeking an outdoor escape. While the park is still being improved, local dog owners appreciate the large, open spaces, one tree, and a bench in each section, although shade is limited in the afternoons.
Visitors should be prepared before heading out—bring your own water for your dog, as there are currently no fountains or bowls available. Don’t forget your own poop bags, since waste stations are not installed yet. While there is nearby parking, be aware that a sidewalk does not connect directly to the entrance, so pets may have to cross some hot asphalt. Though still a work in progress, Alamosa Dog Park has the potential to become a standout destination for dog owners in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Dog park is terrible it’s full of stickers how do you expect our dogs to run freely where there is nothing but stickers can’t even take two steps
Entire east fence allows dogs through as there spaced to wide. Western fence area is secure as our 5 month old GSP went through the bars.
The Alamosa Dog Park is new and I am not sure if it’s fully completed. It is open and a decent size with two areas for the dogs to run in. Both spaces have 1 tree and 1 bench, however, when we went in the evening shortly before sunset, both sides were in direct and full sun. I’d recommend a few more benches and shade for the people and dogs.
There is no sidewalk from the parking lot to the park, so on a hot day your pup will be walking on the tar. Plan accordingly.
There are no bag stations available, so people have already started leaving messes after their dogs. Be sure to have your poop bags like a responsible dog owner.
The gates do not lock shut. A large dog can easily push their way through these gates into the unlatching space. Hopefully this is updated in the future.
The biggest con to this park is there is no water available for the dogs. So, be prepared to bring water for your pup.
With a few updates recommended above this new dog park could really be amazing.
