Moderate hike, most of it through a tunnel of rhododendrons and mountain laurel, I’m sure they are beautiful in the spring! Right now they look very stressed from lack of water. Beautiful view from the top! Definitely worth the quick 3 miles up and back.

Beautiful hike, slightly challenging but not a lot of elevation gain. Beautiful view at the top. Couple of downed trees along the trail but nothing too hard to maneuver. Only gripe with the trail is that it is littered with, well, litter. For a trial they make us pay to access you would think it would be cleaned better.

Very beautiful at the top. If you bring your dog make sure they’re in shape. My pug/boxer mix was not ready lol by the time we got back down he was exhausted. Also, there’s a lot of loose rocks you have to walk on so just be careful. Will definitely be back. 😀

Beautiful payoff at the top but the trail is narrow (basically a ditch). I would advise against this trail when muddy or raining. The drive up is about 2.5 miles on a narrow gravel road with a steep drop off on one side. The gravel road is in great shape.

Gorgeous short hike! It gets very narrow and very wide in areas. It can be flat and sandy, to steep and rocky. My dog and I casually hiked to the top in under 45 minutes (pee breaks and pictures) It was well worth the detour from the interstate. It’s not marked but you enter between two large rocks where you park. It is the only trail so it shouldnt be confusing without markings. Lovely morning hike. Even if you don’t think you have time, make time for this location!! It’ll be worth it at the top. Breathtaking is an understatement.
