Amazing place to go backpacking. The loop ranges from low lying valleys with creeks and waterfalls to cliff side viewpoints to a forested summit with unique wildflowers. In the spring this hike is beautiful. In the winter it is also beautiful, but it is bitterly cold. Overall, this is an awesome backpacking trail.

This is a tough hike. i did it in one way, going clockwise around the trail. the condition of the path in some places was quite dangerous due to the leaves but it was well marked. personally, i don’t think the views were quite worth the difficult of the hike. if you check out the video on this review, that’s the best view. you can get there by doing around a 3-4 mile out and back hike if you just want a nice picture but i was kind of disappointed by the rest of the vistas.

If you’re going from tail🪑to trail with anything over 30lb, better plan for two full days. It can be pretty strenuous at points, but there are nearly limitless, established campsites, as well as non-trafficked camping areas. 4 stars only because the mau-har portion is significantly less blazed so be sure to keep a diligent eye out to stay on course. Overall, moderate to strenuous trek. Kudos to those who have done the loop in one day.
