I took the counter-clockwise route and I’m glad I did! The first mile was more difficult, but I was fresh then. The next 3/4 mile was easy, with the last 1/2 mile to the top getting steep again. The route down was treacherous in places and I ended up rolling my ankle on loose rocks.

Great 5 mile hike! Lots of shade, very scenic, mostly rocky, easy to follow the trail, much of the trail was 1 to 2 feet wide.
