Nice place to sit out on the picnic table by the river and eat lunch. The prices are reasonable and the food is good. Pretty typical burger and fries place but they have baskets with all kinds of things if you’re in the mood for something different. Also serve ice cream by the scoop, banana splits, hot fudge cake sundaes and all that good stuff.
A heads up for non-locals: CASH OR CHECK ONLY -The food is always really good and the people are awesome. It’s right by the river and a great place to stop after being up in the mountains or in the river. But be prepared for a wait – the line is usually pretty long and they only have a few people in the heat back there fixing food. Just be prepared for that when you get there and you’ll be good. Because they have really cheap food that is delicious – the burgers are awesome! One of the only places you can get full for under NULL anymore!
Driving the Cherohala Skyway and spotted this place. Turned around to grab a bite, definitely worth it. We got a chili cheese corndog, footlong corndog, large order of hush puppies, small and medium drink for 13 bucks and some change, like stepping back in time before it costs your soul to buy anything. All the food was great. Ample picnic tables next to the river. They have ice cream that looked really though we were to full to get any. Definitely wanna try their burgers as they look delicious.
I was a first timer over the weekend and I will absolutely be back! Hearty portions of hot, delicious food served. (Huge fan of the crinkle fries!) Plenty of outdoor seating was a major plus – especially overlooking the river!
