Andreas Park offers dog owners a beautiful natural escape in Teaneck, New Jersey, overlooking the Hackensack River. This scenic spot is known for its pet-friendly trails where you can walk your leashed dog around a tranquil pond filled with wildlife. It’s the perfect destination for those seeking dog-friendly hiking and riverside walks while enjoying views of birds, waterfowl, and the unique habitats this area supports.
While there isn’t a dedicated off-leash dog area or fenced section, the park is well-kept and provides pathways that wind through its natural scenery. It’s also a family-friendly park with a playground (dogs are not allowed inside the playground area) and amenities such as tennis courts and fishing access, making it a great spot for a full day in nature.
Early in the morning before the park becomes full of people, the wildlife along the river is wonderful.
It’s not big, but for a neighborhood park with the Hackensack River right there, you can see many different birds, waterfowl, and nature all around. You just need to look and pay attention 🙂
Such a great place to walk around and take pictures (also kid friendly and dog friendly) 😊
