Dog Anxiety: Causes, Signs & What Actually Helps
Many dogs show clear signs of dog anxiety, including pacing, panting, and seeking constant reassurance. If your dog paces, whines, […]

Sylva Dog Park, located within Mark Watson Park in Sylva, North Carolina, offers a convenient place to stretch your legs with your furry friend. While not a traditional off-leash dog park, it features a small fenced area where dogs can get some exercise and socialize, though there are leash requirements for most of the park. The area includes a concrete walking trail with several pet waste stations, making it easy for pet owners to keep the park clean and enjoyable for everyone.
The park is part of a larger, well-maintained community space that includes picnic tables, public restrooms, athletic fields, and beautiful shaded walking trails. Visitors enjoy the smooth pathways (suitable for strollers), trash receptacles throughout, and a relaxing outdoor setting. Although water bowls are provided inside the dog area, bringing your own water is recommended as there is no direct water source within the dog park fencing. A water fountain is available nearby at the tennis courts. Shade is limited within the fenced area, so plan accordingly, especially during hot weather.
You gotta bring water for your dog. There is a water bowl inside the fence and a water fountain close by but it’s not inside the dog fence area.
I wouldn’t exactly call this a “Dog Park,” but there is a concrete path with pet waste stations along the way. Dogs must be kept on leashes. This area is located within the Mark Watson Park. There are also picnic areas, ball fields, basketball courts and public bathrooms. It is a very well maintained.
It’s tiny but at least they have a dog park to go to. Bring your own water there are bowls but no water source to fill said bowls in the dog park. There is however a water fountain and a bottle fill station close by at the tennis courts. I usually walk the perimeter of the whole park a few times before letting him loose in the doggy park.
The dog parks are a damn joke. No shade, no water. One is tiny. The other is on the side of a hill next to the dump. Have to cross busy roads to get to either one. The one next to the dump will be completely useless during the hot summer
Nice park. Wish it could be extended on far side to make it larger. It’s a small space. Especially when multiple dogs are there. I agree a water fountain would be nice. Keeping pups away from sitting water in bucket isn’t always easy. The whole park where the dog park is in is great and kept clean. One problem noted some people chatting not watching their dogs or even are and don’t clean up after them.
