Amazing place with plenty of parking and a hiking trail that is safe for kids. Those who want more of a challenge can just do a longer hike. This is as good (if not better) as many other overcrowded bay area trails in terms of views. There is also water and restrooms at the beginning of the trail. Dog and bike friendly!

Great park for hiking. Easy parking, decent park restroom, and simple to reach off Foothill Road. (Note, recent rains caused slides undermining northbound Foothill Road near the park entrance, so road closures exist coming from the north)

Great big gravel lot with plenty of free parking spaces, clean bathrooms, picnic tables, and access to many Pleasanton Ridge trailheads offering dog-friendly hiking, mountain biking, and great scenic views of the Tri-Valley area.

very steep no matter how you enter the park. If you are a mountain biker I suggest you warm up on the road before heading up. Great for pushing yourself.
