This park features a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking lot, making it convenient for all visitors. While dogs are allowed at Baumgartner Park, it’s perfect for pet owners seeking relaxing walks with their four-legged companions. With pet-friendly trails along the river and scenic nature views, it’s an ideal destination for dog walkers and those seeking a bit of urban greenery.
Besides being one of the best parks for dog walking in Sterling Heights, Baumgartner Park offers activities for everyone. Amenities include a baseball field, picnic tables, a playground with slides and swings, public restrooms, and open grassy spaces suitable for both sports and relaxed strolling. Families appreciate its friendly atmosphere and convenient features, making it a favorite spot for locals and their pets alike.
Entire park fenced and chained closed despite arriving at 7:30am, when park hours are posted as 7a-8p. Excess fencing and landscaping actively discourages enjoying views of the river and nearby woods. Park fine for sports, but poor for dog walkers or folks who just want a bit of green.
