FAQ for Lowertown Dog Park in St Paul Minnesota:
This is a convenient dog park for the resident of Lowertown. It is not and was never intended to be a destination for those outside of the neighborhood. There are larger dog parks with better amenities within a 15-minute drive such as High Bridge, Battle Creek, Arlington/Arkwright, etc.Be sure to bring waste bags, as the high volume of visitors means there may not be any available on-site.As a plus, there is a decent view of CHS Field from the East end of the park.
This place sucks – call it what it is…a tiny fenced in gravel yard with a water fountain. I guess if you live downtown it’s nice to have a place where your dogs can be off leash, and maybe when the Saints are playing there’s a little extra something…but don’t make this “dog park” a destination. There was construction at Kaposia and High Bridge so I checked this out…never again. Boo
Well I’m giving it five stars because I live in the neighborhood within walking distance of my condo and it is gravel, so it’s almost never excessively muddy even if it rains the same day which I can’t say about any other dog park in the general vicinity.I think it’s a little ridiculous that the dog water fountain is still off… Do they think the dogs are going to give each other covid? If you’re feeling kind of cheap you can actually watch the Saints game while letting the dogs do their business as well.Definitely not convenient if you don’t live within walking distance, and I wouldn’t bother because who wants to pay for parking to go to a dog park?
Both my dogs love it here, they can relax and do their business as well as play with other dogs. Everyone picks up after their dogs.
Very nice park, super easy to get to and right next to the saints home plate! You could easily watch the game while your dog plays. It could use a touch up on mulch and landscaping, but overall a nice set up.
