FAQ for Five Mile Pond Park in Springfield Massachusetts:
It was phenomenal, honestly. I was there with my brother and we went kayaking together. The water was very warm and very clean. We even started communicating with a family when we pulled onto the shore to take a quick break heading back across the lake where the car was parked. It was a mother and father with their 2 kids and they asked to try the kayaks out and we immediately said yea sure. So we assisted them into the kayaks and explained the few key details for maneuvering safely when on the water and they all did great. It really was a pretty amazing experience all around.
Good fishing that’s about it, everything else is a over grown, not maintained mess,, it’s unfortunate because the kids have no where to go swim, but whenever it was open, people act like animals and ruin it, so that’s what we get…
I never thought that the view of this pond right in the surrounding area in the city was so nice and relaxing to enjoy a quiet moment and hear the water splash. After living in this city for 20 years, yesterday I had the opportunity to enter this park and take these photos.
Great place to fish! Nice water, some people ruin it by littering diapers and empty beer bottles and stuff, but I can’t down rate the place because people are slobs. Got my personal best largey here, see pic
It was nice and clean Enough to swim in. Although I just went fishing. I just wish there wasn’t so much branch in the way may line kept getting hooked. Aside from that it was free to enter and park it’s a nice place to spend time with family friends and loved ones. They even had a porta potty and the police and security took turns protecting five Mile pond park all day.
