Guppy Falls Trail is a scenic, dog-friendly hiking destination nestled in Skaneateles, New York. Known for its tranquil natural beauty, this pet-friendly trail is a local favorite for nature lovers and dog owners alike. The well-maintained paths wind through enchanting woods and lead to picturesque waterfall views, offering a peaceful escape for walkers, runners, and four-legged companions. With both high and valley trails available, you can choose between wooded overlooks and creekside walks to the falls—perfect for a quick stroll or a longer adventure with your furry friend.
The park isn’t a typical fenced dog park, but dogs are welcome off-leash on the trails for those comfortable with more open, natural spaces. There’s ample gravel parking for visitors, a lovely gazebo with Adirondack chairs for relaxing, and benches scattered along the trails for moments of rest. The area features plenty of shade from mature trees, and on hot days, both people and pups may enjoy wading in the cool stream near the falls. Families also enjoy the peaceful atmosphere for picnics and small gatherings, making this a truly versatile destination for outdoor lovers in Upstate NY.

Beautiful hike about 1hr. Well marked trail. Great for dogs off leash. Also hiked just up the water straight to the falls and love that too!

One of the most beautiful places to re-energize reconnect with the “real world”! This place is truly an example of the wonders of Upstate NY. Walkers and runners may choose to venture the high trail that meanders through a variety of majestic trees in what feels like a deep forest. The high trail also offers overlook views of the waterfalls, where further along you can scamper down the hillside to wade in the top stream. The valley trail leads to the base of the waterfalls, but plan to get wet if you choose this route! On a hot summer day, it’s the perfect place for a cool walk in the woods and a splash or two with the native wildlife. The trails are very well maintained, so this place is a suitable escape for casual nature seekers and young children. It’s usually quiet, too, so it’s a safe bet for some nature therapy. There are a few benches along the trails as well, so no need to rush your way through. So grateful for this spot!
