This was the perfect place to stay for two people spending five days exploring Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island. It’s exactly as described: an efficiency, designed for people who plan to spend their days exploring rather than staying inside. That matched our plans perfectly. We wanted to explore the park and the island as much as possible, and this space provided everything we needed to do just that. The unit was clean, comfortable, and quiet. We never heard any neighbors, just the occasional sound from the parking lot, but nothing that disturbed us. It felt private and peaceful throughout our stay. The bed was fine, and after long days of hiking and sightseeing, it was a great place to rest and recharge. The full-size fridge was a pleasant surprise, far better than the small ones usually found in hotel rooms. Although we didn’t use the cooking equipment, it was there and well-stocked for anyone who prefers to cook. The WiFi worked flawlessly, which was especially helpful since cell service in the area was unreliable or nonexistent at times. We were able to plan our days and look up information without any issues. The location truly couldn’t be better. Seal Harbor is small, quiet, and full of charm. It feels like a hidden gem. The property is just around the corner from one of Acadia’s park entrances and only about 15 minutes from both Bar Harbor and Northeast Harbor. There’s even a restaurant located right above the Airbnb. Although we didn’t get a chance to try it, it looked nice. Seal Harbor Beach, which is just down the road, is one of the few sandy beaches on the island and definitely worth a visit. While you shouldn’t expect luxury or resort-style amenities, the space offers great value for the price and location. If your main goal is to explore Acadia and you’re looking for a quiet, convenient, and comfortable place to stay, this is a fantastic option.
Easy hike suitable for all (including strollers). Water views were spectacular. Highly recommend!
My wife and I stayed 3 nights at Seal Harbor Efficiencies . . . The short comings where: no cable TV, the bed was uncomfortable, no extra bedding for foldout couch, and limited kitchen items . . . However, the price was very reasonable for the convenient location to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, and Seal Harbor Beach — futhermore, the glow-in-the-dark toilet seat was impressive. There is an entrance to Acadia National Park just around the corner across from the enjoyable Seal Harbor Beach. For your convenience, I highly suggest you purchase a your park pass AND make your required reservation to enter Cadillac Mountain at a Welcome Center before entering the park!!! You will appreciate their information and assistance.Mount Desert Island is a fantastic place to visit and enjoy.
The one bedroom had a great location if you wanted to go to Acadia national Park because the entrance was right around the corner from the place. Unfortunately the room was really dirty. They only gave us one roll of toilet paper for two people for a six night stay and would not respond when we asked if we could get more. We had to buy our own. Then they never gave us extra towels. We had one towel for each of us that we had to use the whole entire stay as well with no way to wash or dry them. Again when we reached out to the owner nothing back.
I had to cancel my stay half of the way. Airbnb wasn’t helpful . They did not refund me half of my stay. I asked for 3 night refund and it seems that i only got two nights even though Airbnb cancelled for me on June 9th.Why did i cancel? The place was not as described. The pictures in Airbnb are deceiving the apartment doesn’t look like in the pictures . The place was filthy. The bathroom is a mess. One set of towels per person for a 6 night stay. The Host Judith never reply our messages. We left without even hear back from her. If you read the reviews , everyone said their stay was wonderful. Well I’m here to tell you that mine was not. Also i have been trying to post a review in Airbnb and i cannot . Maybe that’s why all the reviews are good because they don’t allow to post bad reviews that had to cancel Midway trip.we stay in eff.#3
Fantastic place! Stayed here with my pup, we walked in and Judith/staff had a bowl of water already out for her which I found to be a very sweet touch! I was surprised at the full-kitchen I know it’s advertised that way but I was more impressed than I expected to be. The place had baking dishes, pots, pans, even tupperware for left-overs! I was able to save myself money and time trying to restaurants that weren’t super busy or offered food I could eat. There was even ice cube trays! While I spent more time playing outdoors it was great to come home at night and be able to relax and watch a little TV too (another thing I hadn’t expected). For my birthday I visited the restaurant up above where I had a great meal. I met Judith, Mary, and a few other folks who lived/worked nearby all of whom were super sweet, friendly, and kind. What a great spot!
