River Trail Trailhead & Dog Park is a welcoming destination for dog lovers in Santa Fe, NM. This dog-friendly park features spacious areas for pups to explore, plenty of trails for hiking, and fantastic mountain views. While the dog park boasts ample room for dogs to roam and play, it is recommended to bring your own water as there are no water fountains for pets on-site. The park serves as a trailhead for scenic pet-friendly hikes, making it a favorite spot for both exercise and relaxation among local dog owners.
This family-friendly spot also features playgrounds for kids, open party areas, gazebos, and a stage with nearby restaurants and shops for a full day out. The well-maintained trails offer options for different hiking levels, including both the Ridge and Oak Trails, which lead to beautiful panoramic views and peaceful picnic spots. Parking is limited (about 10 spots), but usually sufficient during midday hours, and a portable restroom is available for visitors’ convenience.
Dog park entrance at this location. Nice park, lots of room for pups to explore. BRING WATER
Nice little part with all the amenities for kids and an adult, besides getting a little face lift for the community of Santa Fe.
Nice dog park.. Nice party area but needs shade… Play ground areas way to hot for kids to play.
It’s pretty plain not really very exciting but it would make for a great walk or a jog. I suppose I’m spoiled by loop trails in my own area back in mid United States where you start at one place and can walk a couple of miles but wind it back at your car and don’t have to come back the same path you took to get back to your car.
Romero park is a fun place to bring the dogs. Two large runs and trailhead.
You can jump off on the River Trail and walk Long the Santa Fe River.
Great views of the mountains too.
