I took my first hike on this property today, along with my dog, after learning about it on a recent Google Search. I took advantage of the warm temperatures and lack of snow on this last day of 2024. The trails and hike were really outstanding, particularly the Hammertown Loop (even though part of that is along Hammertown Road). The trails are extremely well marked with royal blue blazes that cannot be missed. There were a few trees blown down across the trails, but nothing that could not easily be circumnavigated. The cellar hole is one of the best I have ever encountered, and the views along the river are quite impressive. We parked at the town offices (no public restrooms!) and hiked the Wolf Pine Trail to the Hammertown Loop, back over Wolf Pine to the Two Rivers Loop, a total of 6 miles. Elevation gains of about 200 ft. are quite moderate and easy to handle. We encountered one other hiker and one small group, both also with friendly dogs.

One the best of the BNRC properties and one that is not overrun with dogs … therefore you still see lots of wildlife and have that lovely rushing river song 🎵 in the background. Bear scat, porcupine, and deer sightings on my last visit.

Nice place to hike. Not too strenuous so it’s a great place for kids. Follows a stream and there is a place for kids to walk down and stick their feet in the water. See photo for hiking map.

Love this property, possibly my favorite BNRC property. It was cool to see the clam/muscle organisms in the river. Nice trails.

Quite place where the river can be heard along the loop trail. There are great vantage points as the trail is up on the bank facing down. Would go back again!
