They say if you’re in Roscoe City Park after dark, when the wind picks up and the mesquites start whispering, you might see him—what’s left of him, anyway.Locals call him Tumble Tom. Once a drifter, he got caught in a dust devil so fierce it spun him clean out of his boots. When it stopped, only a tumbleweed rolled out… with eyes. Now he roams the park at twilight—dry limbs scratching pavement, denim scraps tangled in twigs, whispering nonsense in a voice like wind through a screen door. Folks who’ve seen him say he’s lookin’ for his boots. Or maybe just someone else to roll with.Either way, when the wind kicks up in Roscoe… best not stick around to find out.
