Wonderful trail through some meadows, mostly woods, many foot bridges and interesting creeks along the path. Clean trail, very little poison ivy!! (Not stroller friendly if you plan to do the entire 4 mile loop)
I’ve hiked several trails in southeastern Connecticut, but this is hands down the best. Clean, well-marked, and follows a rushing brook until it doubles back to the parking lot. 10/10!
The orange trail is beautiful and not difficult. It does have lots of rocks and roots but a really nicely done trail.
This trail is great especially if you have a dog. The Yellow trail is flat and simply makes a huge circle in an open field, I could see my car the entire time. The Orange trail is amazing, it goes off into the woods with not much difficulty. There is a sign at the beginning of the trail that reads “more difficult,” but it is definitely not hard. I’m not in the best shape and this trail was easy for me. My dog loves it and we will continue to go! A definite must do!
Have been out there a couple times now and the trails are great! Definitely need to be careful with some of the bridges on the orange trail as due to ground shifting, some of them are very wobbly.There are multiple trails. There’s one that stays out of the woods that is very flat and good for jogging and dog walking. The others go into the woods, are definitely more made for hiking.Honestly my biggest complaint is that there isn’t a single trash can here, even in the parking area (which to be fair, is the only place I’d expect one). I know of at least one person that ditched their bag of dog poop because there was nowhere to dispose of it.Have brought my dog here both times, and have had to take her poop across the street to the park, where no dogs are allowed (and the people there just glare at you when they see the dog in the car).
