Dog Anxiety: Causes, Signs & What Actually Helps
Many dogs show clear signs of dog anxiety, including pacing, panting, and seeking constant reassurance. If your dog paces, whines, […]

Located in the heart of Paterson, New Jersey, the Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park offers dog owners a scenic place for walks with beautiful views of one of the widest waterfalls east of the Mississippi. This park is perfect for anyone looking for a dog-friendly park in Paterson with paved walkways, picturesque waterfalls, and plenty of historical charm. Though the park itself isn’t exclusively a dog park, it provides pet-friendly trails ideal for leashed strolls and opportunities for relaxing picnic breaks with your furry companion.
While the park is not a fully featured off-leash dog park, it offers several amenities such as picnic areas, seating spots by the water, and quick access to walking trails. Parking can be a bit tight, but there is usually a steady turnover or the option for nearby street parking. The area is well-suited for casual dog walks, photography, and soaking in local history, making it a popular stop for residents and visitors alike.
Relatively small but I had no trouble parking on a Saturday in summer at 11am

Nice little park with a beautiful waterfall.
Great for a nice walk or a picnic, plenty of places to sit and look at the water.
I must say it’s not the cleanest park, but that is expected from being located within a residential area.
Unfortunately the overlook bridge is closed so in order to get to see both sides of the waterfall there is a small detour around ,like a 3 minute walk.
The parking lot is not big but the rotation is quite quick so even if full- be patient and someone will drive out,or just park in the nearby neighborhoods street parking.
All and all a nice stop if you live close or pass by the area.

A very beautiful scenic spot, clean and tidy, with several nostalgic factories… It brings us back to our childhood🤣😂
