Aside from the start of the trail where there is a bit of a steep uphill, most of the trail is on what probably was an old railroad bed. A 1% – 2% grade for a couple of miles next to the beautiful Otter Creek. We only saw one fisherman the whole day. There is one stream crossing about one mile in that could be dicey during high water but for us it was a fun challenge. There was some mudding parts but nothing too bad. The flowers are starting to come out but it was early enough in the year that there were no bugs. We did about 2.5 miles up found it was much easier coming back down. Our dog loved it! Next time we will go further.

Beautiful view of the countryside. My mistake was going with bad weather. Best time of year to visit would be in the fall.

This is a great stretch of otter creek trail. After the bridge take the steep uphill turn where there’s a sign, and from there you can go straight for around 5-6 miles without any turns. There is one kind of dicey stream crossing about a mile in.
