Mount Hope Dog Walking Park is a scenic dog park in Otisville, New York, ideal for dog owners and outdoor enthusiasts seeking pet-friendly trails and natural views. This large park offers plenty of space for walks and play, with a network of well-maintained hiking and biking trails that wind through woodlands, hills, and alongside beautiful views of the local reservoirs. It’s well-known for its clean air, opportunities for wildlife sightings, and easy accessibility from the Port Jervis area.
While the park does not feature fenced dog areas or agility equipment, it is popular with both local dog owners and visitors for its peaceful setting and open layout. Amenities include a gazebo for shelter, benches to relax on, and the convenience of dog waste bags and trash bins. However, the parking area is limited and can be tricky to navigate, especially in wet weather when trails may get muddy. While dogs are welcome, owners are advised to bring good footwear, be vigilant on shared trails with cyclists, and keep dogs leashed as there is no fencing.

I am with a pet rescue transport and it’s a great place to let out the furries to run and let out some energy.

It was a lovely place except the path had many areas saturated with water so my dog got mud splashed on her legs and I got it on my pants. I wish there was some agility equipment for a dog to use but it is simply a path, a pond, two benches and a gazebo. Be careful entering the lot as it is narrow and surrounded by drainage gulley. Oh, there are dog waste bags and waste can too.

It’s a fairly large park with limited parking and a nice trail/path.
Neat pagoda where to sit, considering there are not trees around
