Amazing view of the Salmon River estuary. Beautiful trail through the Pacific coast rainforest. We saw numerous senior hikers like us but beware this is 1200 vertical feet in a mile.

Nice walk in the woods. No real sign or marker, so we went back after about 45 minutes in. We had little kids, and it was fine for our taste of the hike. A map would have been great. Did not see the ocean during our walk.

I love this hike. It does become overgrown and there are fallen trees that you will climb over, but that’s part of its charm. Bring small poppers and cut obtrusive branches if they bother you. It’s about 4 miles to the road. Up Three Rock Road a bit further is an easier trail. If you want to see a lot of beautiful ferns and impressive mossy trees this is a great hike. I’m from out of town and was told this was a great hike to try while visiting. Wow!! This person wasn’t kidding! This is one of the most scenic hikes I have been on! Really great views and some fairly steep terrain in a few spots. We went slow going up because there were so many picture opportunities. Took about 2 hours to get to the very top and one hour and twenty minutes going down! The views were simply amazing as you can tell by the pictures! I would highly recommend doing this hike! One of the best hikes I have ever been on!
