Many dogs show clear signs of dog anxiety, including pacing, panting, and seeking constant reassurance. If your dog paces, whines, […]

The Dog Park at Love’s Travel Stops is a convenient, pet-friendly stop for travelers and locals alike, located just off the highway in Oakwood, Illinois. This fenced dog park offers a safe place for your canine companion to stretch their legs, burn off energy, and enjoy some outdoor time. While relatively simple in design, the park is clean and provides a double-gated entry for added safety. There are a couple of benches for pet owners, but little shade, so be prepared on sunny days.
A poop bag station is available, but reviews note it’s not always stocked, and trash cans can sometimes overflow—consider bringing your own bags. The space is described as larger than it appears, allowing plenty of room for dogs to run off-leash. The main advantage is the park’s accessibility and the fact that it’s free and open to all. Beyond the dog park, there are playgrounds and recreational fields nearby, making this location enjoyable for the whole family on your road trip or Oakwood outing.
Pretty average dog park next to Love’s. Not too big, but fenced and clean. They even had a bag station and a couple of benches for humans. No shade though, so if the sun’s out – your pup’s gonna roast like a hot dog. There were two gates, which is a nice touch for safety. Nothing fancy, but it does the job. If your furry co-pilot needs a break, this’ll do just fine. I’ve seen worse. I’ve seen better. But hey – it’s free, clean, and not falling apart. That’s already a small win on the road.
