Giant Dog Park Drama!
The sun was out, but the air had a bite, and patches of the ground were a soggy, muddy mess. The park was split into two sprawling sections, each with tons of room to roam. When my dog and I rolled up to the gate, there was already someone there with a little pup on one side. My dog’s big, friendly, and loves to play, so I figured we’d take the empty section to give them some breathing room.
But as soon as we neared the gate, this Karen piped up, barking at us to use the other side. For real? It’s a public dog park! Quit acting like you’ve got a deed to it. I can’t deal with people like that—it’s a huge park, people! Oh, and bonus points: I’ve never once seen her scoop her dog’s poop.
Maxwell Dog Park is a delightful haven for dogs and their owners. The park offers separate fenced areas for small and large dogs, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for all. Amenities such as water fountains (available seasonally), benches, and shade structures enhance the experience, making it a pleasant outing for both pets and their humans. Love this park! Clean, has watering stations and bags for puppy poo & 3 different fenced-in areas! Definitely will return.
We travel to a bunch of dog parks. We were very happy this is a free and fob-less park, like ~92% of the other parks out there. Great pitstop for travelers with well-socialized dogs. Not many dogs on a Monday around noon, but as expected generally.
It’s on the medium size of medium in our experience.
Amenities:
A couple of community balls
Doggie bags
Watering holes
Benches on concrete pads
Good shade in the larger run.
Portapotties
Not sure if lights in the evening.
Great park!
