Discover Arlington Ernst Park, a small but charming pet-friendly destination located on Orwig Rd in New Freedom, PA. Dog owners and outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy scenic trails that wind through the park, offering a perfect spot for dog-friendly hikes and leisurely walks. While Arlington Ernst Park may not be the largest facility, its tranquil atmosphere, natural beauty, and historical touches make it an inviting location for visitors and their canine companions.
Though the park receives mixed maintenance reviews, it has a rustic charm, featuring woodsy trails and unique remnants like old foundations and mature trees. The area is often used for biking and exploring, making it a versatile spot for active pet owners. Please note that the park’s facilities are limited and some trails may be overgrown, so be prepared for a more rugged experience in this lesser-known dog park in New Freedom, Pennsylvania.
Small but nice!
Used to be nice. Whoever owns it doesn’t maintain it. Seems like the only “maintenance” is done by local kids. Most trails are covered in overgrowth and halfway fallen trees.
Visited years ago and discovered old foundation(s), barbed wire fence in the middle if a tree (tree grew up supported by fence) wish I had a picture.
Would like to work with a motion capture camera deployed on the trail(s) of the park and see what roams there. There was also a refuse dump (smoldering from composting heat), used by NF Public Works Dept.
Short and sweet
Went with a friend and did all types of bike riding around there. We had a blast!!
