If you’re searching for an outstanding dog park in Montrose, Colorado, look no further than Montrose Dog Park! This pet-friendly location boasts impressive natural scenery – including plenty of trees, grassy spots, and boulders – making it ideal for dogs who love to explore. The park is fully fenced and features double-gated entry, providing peace of mind for owners and plenty of freedom for dogs to run and play off-leash. There are separate, enclosed areas for both large and small/medium dogs, ensuring a safe environment for pups of all sizes.
Montrose Dog Park is also known for its accessibility and amenities. It offers wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking, picnic tables, public restrooms, and shaded areas to keep both pets and their owners comfortable. A water fountain is available at the entrance (bring extra water during busy days!), and there’s ample seating so you can relax while your furry friend plays. The park closes annually for maintenance in April or May; otherwise, it’s an excellent destination for dog-friendly hiking and outdoor fun in Montrose.
From what I saw of the large dog park, it looked okay. Fresh water fountain at the entrance. There was a dog stalking the entrance to the park and as soon as we entered, it attacked my dog. The owner sat on the park bench yelling it’s name while I fought the attacker off of my dog.
We immediately left and went to the small dog park. It was nothing but fallen branches and overgrown grass. We will not return to this park because of negligent dog owners.
Best DP we’ve ever visited. Went in the middle of the day and still had plenty of shade in the summer. Lots of trees and even grass. Had a picnic lunch from Blue Corn (another great place) while our dogs sniffed and played.
Great place for your dog to just get out and run around. In a cool spot, set up specially for you doggy!
It’s a fenced area and it’s actually fairly big.
We’re definitely going back with both our dogs!
There is a small to medium size enclosed area and a large enclosed area. It is the Best dog park I have ever been too. Double gates for entry are awesome, natural trees short grasses and boulders for them to play and sniff.
Probably one of the best dog parks I’ve ever been to. I go out of my way on road trips to let my dogs run around there. There are lots of trees and and interesting scenery for them, lots of room to run and chase balls, lots of different textures and areas to explore. It doesn’t look like it’s completely fenced in as you drive up (log fence), but it is (it has wire in between and running all around and into the ground), so if you lose sight of your dogs, you don’t have to worry. It’s closed once a year in April or May for maintenance. Bring your own water.
