Spring Park Natural Area is a hidden gem in Milwaukie, Oregon, perfect for dog owners looking to explore tranquil pet-friendly trails. From rocky paths to relaxing beach and dock areas, every visit feels like a true escape for both you and your furry companion.
The park features winding nature trails, river wading, a kayak launch, and a swimming area. Although dogs are required to stay on leash until reaching the river, they’ll enjoy the adventure right by your side. Please note the terrain can be rocky and challenging for wheelchairs or strollers, and parking is limited onsite.
I wouldn’t call this trail ‘accessible’ there are a few rather steep inclines along with some boulders that I can’t imagine any wheelchair getting around or over. Just a heads up for anyone looking for an accessible trail this is NOT it

Small playground with two portable bathrooms, picnic tables and a couple benches. There was a path down to the water, rocky and not a great stroller walk. Kayak launch and swimming area if you wanted.

as others have noted, this is a hidden gem not too far from Sellwood. It really does not feel like Portland at all. the park has lots of thistles & things that will catch on your clothes so it’s best to wear closed toed shoes. you can access the water from the beach area or from the docks. it’s such a breathtaking spot and not very busy at all (i went on a Monday afternoon).

This is my new favorite place! Handicap accessible to a point, then it’s Rocky and rough. Bring the dogs, on leash until the river. This is how you get over to Elk Rock island. Some wading through the river may be required. I haven’t done it yet because of high water. Be careful if river is high. Debris, currents are dangerous, and you won’t see the river bottom to cross to rocks in river!
