Larger lot to park and explore the trails. We were able to hike to the Hawk Watch lookout as well as Buttermilk Falls from this location. Not a difficult hike at all. The area around the falls is beautiful…pack a lunch and enjoy!

These trails are awesome. If you do walk all the trails it’ll take around 3 hours. There are many trails, about 5/6 all together. Very rocky in some parts. All together mostly on an incline/ decline , some parts are flat.

Nice place to hike, with well marked trails. Lots of roots and rocks in some places, but not difficult. Route around the reservoir is pretty, other than an unfortunate short stretch along a very busy road.

Afternoon hike at Buttermilk Falls was a nice little hike and not challenging at all. found parking on grilbride at the chimney Rock park hawk watch. it’s hit or miss if you actually get a spot. no parking on roadside so becareful since I’ve heard of police handing out tickets. You have to walk across the road to get onto trail for the falls although the trail is easy it’s very rocky so wear appropriate shoewear. to get down by the falls/dam that was built in 1920 you have to do a little Rock scrambling.
