This park offers lot of trails, horseback riding, an Olympic sized pool, a playground. There’s a canyon you can trek through and a nest covered bridge. I went on a Monday and it was pretty quiet. Very cool place to explore.
In the heart of Indiana you can find this beautiful trail system in Turkey Run State Park. With the river on the trail there are beautiful views with giant old growth tree! Such as Eastern Hemlocks and trails for all ages. Be very careful in some areas, where rocks can be slippery and some areas can be steep. This is a great place to take the family for a picnic and just out door adventures.
Beautiful park with great hiking trails. We went on a Saturday and the river was absolutely mobbed with people rafting and kayaking but if you hike upstream a ways, it quiets down. The trails are cleared and well marked. Some are quite rugged. It’s not very accessible for wheelchairs or strollers. Lots of stairs, rugged terrain and steep climbs. If you dont go down by the river, the trails seem to be more accessible. There are beautiful rock formations and a covered bridge. Lots of picnic tables and clean bathrooms. It’s a fun place to visit. We saw people fishing and some fish jumping.
Nice place with nearby activities.
Trail #3 is recommended but not suitable for small children, some steep long ladders, steps and paths near cliffs.
Bring plenty of water.
After hiking the outdoor pool is a great place to cool down. Costs additional 3 dollars.
