Basketball courts, kiddo playgrounds, and a nice dog run I gathered kindling from by the creek. Also found three or four tennis balls in the ivy on the uphill side. Tossed them back into play for the next pups. There is also a porta potty here and nice walking paths to enjoy.
It was a beautiful sunnyshinny day. We sat a burnt picnic table, next to a little brook. We watched the birds & squirrel play. We talked and we sang together, giving our Praises to the Lord. Nobody seamed bothered by us.
Maybe could use an update on tables, more accessible for the handicap.
This is a nice little haven located near everything Lexington has to offer. It suffers from a little neglect, though, and could use some community TLC.
It’s pleasant to sit by the stream which is teeming with wildlife like harmless water snakes and turtles and water stryders. There’s also a paved walk/run track around the western perimeter, and a more rustic trail on the east side that follows the creek and meanders south a little ways.
It has picnic tables, benches, a decent playground, and covered pavilion.
I wouldn’t let kids play there unsupervised because some evidence I saw would suggest it’s a great place to park and get stoned (😄).
A small neighborhood park. It’s pretty quiet, with few people there during the week, making it a good place to take your dog and let him or her off the leash for a bit. Small baseball field is in poor condition and rarely used. A rough trail parallels a nice stream to a glade further down and is a pleasant place to take a stroll.
I grew up in Meadowbrook in the house at the top of the hill of the park. I loved it growing up. Having a creek and all kinds of wildlife to play with as a child was great. However, when I became a teenager, the neighborhood kind of went downhill. These are some pictures of my now remodeled house I grew up in. Haven’t lived there for a long time I don’t miss it.
