Joel Shoemaker

Three overlooks, one half-way up and the other two on top of Mt. Hosmer, provide three remarkably different views of the vast and beautiful Mississippi River valley several hundred feet below. Situated in a mixed hardwood forest, the park includes helpful and informative signage, a shelter, picnic tables, benches, restrooms, trail heads, a small playground, WWI and Veterans’ Memorial. While well-visited by locals and sightseers alike, the site frequently provides a peaceful, quiet respite from the hubbub of everday life.

Beautiful place! Highly recommend. The trails were easily walked on, not too muddy even after rain. It absolutely beautiful, and great for dogs too!

Absolutely loved this stunning panorama. The view from the top is extraordinary. Take the time to drive to the park at the top of the mountain and then be sure to check out the overlook.

Beautiful view over the driftless river area. No walking/hiking. Drive right up to two separate viewing areas.

This park really is a gem! From the easy parking to the nice paved pathways to the overlook. The bathrooms are modern too. The park has a nice size shelter at the top where you can enjoy a nice picnic.
