The turbine warning sign related to danger of rapidly rising water should also be posted at the park entry as well as at the campsites. This information should also be prominent when booking a campsite. We were very surprised to pull into our site late in the day only to see the warning/danger signs. We would not have booked this campground had we known about the turbines ahead of time. The bathrooms are too far from campground and in need of maintenance.

I would say this is generally a quite, serene place with access to fishing across the bridge or the golf course next door. There is occasional noise from the ATV vehicles, but only during the daytime. The RV pads are pull-through with plenty of space on either side with picnic tables and plenty of shade the park has plenty of deer roaming around, pretty much year-round. Cell phone coverage is fine, some over-the-air TV signals do get blocked by the dam, but we still channels to watch. Overall we love camping here and will be back!

We are the Camp Hosts at Grand Cherokee State Park. It is a beautiful place to camp, fish (with or without a boat), kayak, 9 hole golf course with a full-length driving range, rock crawling, or just ride the trails. There are tons of wildlife here in the park (deer, geese, ducks, EAGLES, foxes, raccoons, and others), it is just an amazing place to be. The premium camping spots are very large pull thru, with 50, 30, and 110 plugs, plus you have sewer, water, fire ring, latern hook, and a picnic table. Two dumpsters are conveniently located in the park. They have heated and cooled bathrooms with showers. This campsite DOES NOT CLOSE the during winter. We stay open all year long. Pets are welcome as long as they are on a leash, for their safety due to wildlife. Very family friendly….
*Quiet hours are 11 pm – 7 am
*The speed limit is 10 mph with a one-way road
*If you have any issues or concerns, please stop by our Camp Host spot, and we will handle it or direct it to the correct person. Park Rangers respond quickly, and the staff here are quite amazing.

Very secluded camping area which is nice. We saw some wild life in action and it was so cool. The golfing is close and so it eagles pass which is for rock climbing. We don’t have an UTV so we just watched others have some fun.

The people are friendly, … And the bathrooms are clean……

My husband and I stayed here a couple days ago. It was loud at night and very bright. Lots of traffic, road noise. If you are tent camping, and you are a light sleeper, I do not recommend. Other than that, it was very nice. Nowhere to swim, besides the pool.
