Heckscher Park is a beloved pet-friendly spot in Huntington, NY, perfect for dog owners seeking scenic walks and outdoor enjoyment with their furry companions. Renowned for its beautiful ponds, lush flowers, fountains, and abundant wildlife (swans, ducks, turtles, and geese), the park features a large loop trail that’s ideal for on-leash dog walks. Visitors will find plenty of benches to relax and soak up the views along their strolls.
The park offers various amenities, including a playground, picnic tables, public restrooms, and sports facilities (baseball field and tennis courts), making it an excellent destination for families and dog lovers alike. Wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking enhance accessibility for everyone. Special events like outdoor concerts are sometimes hosted at the park. The park is great. They have an update playground and play place for the kids, beautiful scenery, and its a dog friendly park. There is a stage, some days they will have concerts in the park.
Best park ever! Beautiful ponds, lots of dog walking and parents with kids- and benches! Also, adequate parking.
Such a beautiful way to spend a fall afternoon. The Mrs. and I enjoyed a stroll around the park and then sitting down at one of the many park benches to watch the swans, geese, ducks and turtles swim around the lake.
1st time visiting this town and park, all can visit here with no fees, dog friendly and easy free street parking. For the best parking, i reccomend Madison st.There’s a baseball field and playground available. There’s a small pond/lake in the middle of the park. There’s a walking path that loops around the lake. Plenty of benches available to sit and relax. Overall the this town is very pleasant and worth visiting.
Childhood memories from here and the park is even nicer and more beautiful well kept and clean than it ever has been in the 50 years I’m going here. Great for picnic family or just enjoying the beautiful wildlife flowers fountains. As a bonus they had a free concert of an amazing Led Zeppelin cover band at 8pm. The nicest park in this whole area.
