I started here and went 7.83 mi 2h 12m. All paved trail, well maintained, some great views around town. It winds through town, and I like the setup. There was a ballpark by the playground. You also go by another park that has another really nice playground. Hickman does a very good job on their parks and trails.

There’s always a pretty mean pack of coyotes prowling around the jungle gym here, but as long as you send the kids with a stout stick each, it’s fine – usually.

The downtown Hickman Park (with ball fields) is consistently busy with kids and families. Plenty of activities available – playground, basketball court, ball fields, hiking/biking trails, restrooms, concession, and a brush/grass clipping recycling site (must check out a key from the city office).

The city park on the northwest side of town has an excellent playground for multiple ages. Every time I have taken the kid to this playground, it has been bustling with activity. (No restrooms at this site)

The Bike Trails here are nice and flat, and there is a lot of Tree coverage, as well. Trains are frequent, though, so be safe.
