Nice quiet beach. The shore is full of rocks, shells, and some seaglass. I did not go in the water (i had on the wrong shoes) lots of rocks. Very calm water and shallow warer for a while.
Was a windy day, but a walk down the beach and back, was very relaxing.
Good parking lot. Lots of space to spread out on the rocky beach. The water is really clear and you can find a lot of treasures. A very peaceful and beautiful beach
Nice easy walk along the old railroad bed. The area where a bridge is over the water inlet is beautiful and quiet.
Quiet walk, not well maintained. Lots of mosquitos but then again we are in Maine during the summer! Nice views where the track goes over the tidal basin.
What a beautiful trail! Easy to walk on, mostly flat. I almost never see other people when I come, so it’s definitely a peaceful place to be. Beautiful views of the marsh. Great place to brings kids for a walk.
This is a nice long trail very conveniently located just off route 1a in hancock. The old railway bed passes over a gorgeous inlet filled with birds. The wooded sections are dense and dark and home to porcupine, warblers and deer. The end of thr trail features more marshy water. The only drawback is this trail gets incredibly mosquito filled in the summer. So bring bug spray.
The trail is very pleasant, easy grade and with many water features. It’s nothing dramatic, so i took away a star due to that. It was rainy when i went so didn’t see much bird activity. It was very quiet when i went. Wear boots, trail is wet and muddy at times.
