Paws Park in Gwinn, MI, offers local dog owners and travelers a secure, accessible destination to let their pups play and socialize. Known for its high, secure fencing, Paws Park is an off-leash dog park designed with safety and dog enjoyment in mind, situated just south of Marquette. The park is wheelchair accessible and offers amenities such as benches, waste bag stations, and fresh water for dogs, making it convenient for pet owners visiting Michigan’s Upper Peninsula or those seeking a reliable spot for exercise and fun.
What makes Paws Park unique is its private, member-required access — users must obtain a key fob/permit in advance, so one-time or drop-in users may be unable to enter. This system helps ensure a clean, well-maintained, and exclusive environment for local dog lovers. Paws Park is perfect for residents and regular visitors looking for a serene, clean, and pet-friendly area for their dogs to run off leash and enjoy time outdoors.
This should be labeled as a private park. You must join and wait for a key fob to come in the mail before entering is possible.
Went there while it was open, saw three people and there was a delivery from fed ex, we wanted to buy a dog park pass but door was locked, no phone number to call, and the three, assuming employees, didn’t even help us. We were traveling with our dogs and just wanted a safe place for them to run around to spend some energy…we didn’t have a problem paying to use it, we had a problem trying to get someone to help us.
This is a wonderful place to let my dog run off leash! The fence must be 9 feet high so no way a dog could jump it. The park is clean with poop bags available to use and benches to relax on. Water is also available for your dog.
Had a chance to visit the bench dedicated to my mom here today. Really beautiful and serene…
We are from out of town and found this dog park online. We stopped by to let the dogs run around on the way to Marquette. The park looks really nice but unfortunately it isn’t set up for one time users. You must have a key fob/permit to access the dog park.
