My extended family and I camped there over Labor Day weekend for many years. Great place for being together, near the water and activities. A few weeks ago 2 other family members and I visited for a picnic and couldn’t believe how overgrown everything was compared to before. Still a nice place to visit.

No people in working days, a bit muddy, but great hike and place in overall. Say “Hi” to Elks and Bisons 😊

A beautiful and peaceful place to enjoy nature. The park has a green, quiet environment with plenty of space for tent camping. I loved the chance to see bison and elk up close — a rare treat in Iowa 😀. Great spot for a weekend escape near Des Moines or Ames.
