Reedy Branch Trail is a popular dog-friendly greenway in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Known for its clean, peaceful atmosphere and scenic paved trails, this park is perfect for dog owners seeking a relaxing spot to walk, hike, or jog with their pets. The trail stretches approximately 1.7 miles end-to-end, running through wooded areas and offering semi-shaded and fully shaded sections—providing a cool retreat on warmer days.
The greenway is accessible behind UNC Wayne Hospital where ample parking and restrooms are available. While not a traditional dog park with off-leash fencing, Reedy Branch Trail is beloved for its pet-friendly policies, paved paths suitable for strollers or wheelchairs, and multiple benches along the way. The tranquil setting, wildlife sightings, scenic bridge crossings, and nearby picnic facilities make it a standout spot for dog walkers and nature lovers alike in Wayne County, NC.
My dogs enjoy taking me for walks here 😎
Was beautiful. Very clean. People were very friendly!
Nice paved hike through a wooded area near the creek. Some slight inclines for someone with a wheelchair but manageable.

Greenway, completely paved, runs between New Hope Road to Gloucester/Glenoak intersection. It is point to point.
Access points are at three places:
1)Behind UNC Wayne Hospital (parking lot with plenty of parking), and this is the ONLY direct access with parking close to the trail.
2)New Hope Road but no direct parking.
3)Gloucester/Glenoak intersection, which is a private neighborhood. So, there is no public parking.
Length and details:
The greenway is divided into segments (color indicated with writing on the pavement) that are about a quarter mile each. The entire length from end to end (New Hope Road to Gloucester/Glenoak) is six segments. Strava put the length from end to end at 1.7 miles, which is close to what signage indicates. Completely paved, semi-shaded with some parts totally shaded. Wide enough for two-way traffic of all kinds. Has a few rolling hills but is still easy overall. There are some benches throughout.
At the Gloucester/Glenoak end, there is a fence enclosed property that has a pond, statues, and a plane, among other things. It is neat. Although this is private property, the greenway runs beside it. There is one bridge close to this end that crosses over Stoney Creek. The New Hope Road end of the greenway will let you continue onto New Hope Road as a multi-use trail if you choose to do that. But this isn’t part of the greenway itself.
We’ve seen quite a few deer and owls on the greenway from time to time.
The only thing I don’t particularly like with the greenway is the access. The one lone close/direct parking access behind UNC Wayne Hospital is literally the only one. Nitpicking but should be noted. It’s also a short greenway relatively.
It’s a good hiking/running/walking/dog walking/ biking option in Goldsboro.
