This gem of an RV park in Fries is one of the prettiest and best maintained parks I have camped at. Our spacious site boasted shade from trees behind us and a sloping grass field leading to a stream outside our front door. The camp host was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. There was much to do and see in the area, including the New River Trail State Park, the Thursday night bluegrass jam in town, a car show in the park on Saturday, and this was just in Fries. We also discovered an excellent cafe for lunch and dinner – the Windy River Cafe. Good food at reasonable prices served by a friendly and attentive staff.
Drove up from Jonesville, NC (one hour away) to check out the New River. Wow, so wonderful! Our Lab (and the friends she made) had the best time in the clear water. We enjoyed the beauty of it all!
