Beautifully quiet trail in western Wisconsin.

It’s fairly quiet this time of year. This is a great way to take a long-distance bike ride across a very scenic part of Wisconsin.

Good shaded parking lot and picnic area. With athletic field restrooms.Nice trail access and smooth paved trail from Durand to Red Cedar Trail Junction about 6 miles east of town. Trail gets tougher after the junction to Meridean and Carryville. Saw wildlife and river; red fox, deer and cat.

Easy hiking. I must’ve been on a different part of the trail since I wasn’t near the river at all. Still pretty and quiet scenery. We did come across a small creek. Lots of farm land.

Beautiful scenery! Much of the trail follows the Chippewa River. Some open farmland with opportunities to enjoy wildlife. The trail from Durand heading Northeast is freshly paved and so smooth it a delight to ride. The rest of the trail to Eau Claire can be relatively rough. I don’t know when it was last paved but some suspension on your bike would be beneficial.
