If you’re searching for a scenic dog park in Duarte, California, Mt Bliss: Van Tassel Trailhead stands out as a popular option for adventurous dog owners. This pet-friendly trail offers a challenging hike with sweeping views of Mt San Antonio and Gorgonio, making it perfect for those looking to enjoy nature with their furry companion. The wide, out-and-back trails are ideal for both hiking enthusiasts and families, while the steady climbs provide a solid workout for humans and their dogs.
Although the trail can be steep and features some loose rocks, it’s a favorite in the local community for pet-friendly hiking and conditioning. Bring plenty of water, snacks, and consider visiting at dawn or dusk for the best experience and cooler temperatures. The trails are not typically crowded, so you and your dog can enjoy the tranquil setting and beautiful scenery together.
Great trail. It’s hard af. Steep climbs. Bring poles. I hiked up and ran down. About 9 miles rt.
Completed this hike in 5 hours. I did stop to take pictures. This was a challenging addition in my journey. We hiked 5 miles uphill, then about 5 1/2 on the way back to the car. It was a gloomy morning but perfect weather for the climb. Trekking poles are recommended; there’s a lot of loose rocks making the downhill slippery. Prepare yourself before you start. Pack yourself snacks and at least 2 bottles of water, you will encounter steep inclines on the way up and it will definitely feel like a workout. Enjoy!
Confused at first because the trail looks blocked off. The trail is next to a residential ranch styled homes. I suggest going at dawn or right before dusk. You will need about 3-4 hours to complete the trail.
Great conditioning hike with easy access. Steady climb with great views of Mt San Antonio and Gorgonio. Not crowded. Hike on wide access roads to power lines
Steep hike that is great for the family! With wide trails and plenty of scenery to go around.
