If you’re searching for a pet-friendly spot to explore nature with your pup, Eastmanville Farm County Park in Coopersville offers rustic hiking trails and scenic views conveniently close to Grand Rapids. The trails at this park wind through open meadows and historic farmland, leading to one of Michigan’s few remaining poor farms and ending at a barn brimming with local history. While the trails can get muddy after rain and are not paved, many dog owners appreciate the quiet, natural setting and the flat landscape—great for anyone seeking easy dog-walking trails in West Michigan.

Amenities include picnic tables, public restrooms with actual bathrooms, accessible parking, and a wheelchair-accessible entrance—making it suitable for families and visitors of all ages. Whether you’re hiking, enjoying spring birdwatching, or just letting your dog run alongside you, this park is sure to provide a memorable outdoor experience for both you and your pup.
Definitely going to return to this place in a couple weeks for leaves. As you’ll see in my drone pics and videos we’re only about 20% or so in but trails were nice and Farm was pretty cool as well.
A beautiful visit, tranquil and not busy at all. The trails are not paved and a bit muddy in places, but we prefer a more rustic experience. Absolutely worth the 30 minute drive from Grand Rapids.
Great views in the spring. Lot’s of spring birds
Went for XC skiing. A GR website reported the “outer loop trail was groomed”….it wasn’t. And any type of trail that had been there ended in the middle of nowhere. However, it looked like it would be a great place to snowshoe, or to run/walk in the summer. There were a few trail markers. There were actual bathrooms not just portajohns
Sunny hiking trail with not too much shade! Need to bring lots of water and be careful on a sunny day. A flat trail that creates a unique experience by leading to one of the few poor farms in Michigan and ends at an old barn once worked by many hands.
