Good park next to the river. Historic location for Texans

Really nice park with a kayak launch area and plenty of space to have a picnic, throw a frisbee, or just wander. Unfortunately, as usual in Texas, there’s trash all over down by the river. I have no idea what makes it so hard for people to carry out the trash they carry in, especially when there are garbage cans all over. If you can look past the water bottles, tackle packaging, beer cans, and chicken liver containers, it’s a great place to enjoy the river and launch a kayak or canoe. Watch for submerged debris like culverts, old bridge pieces, and other stuff, if you’re dangling legs out of the boat!

If you’re looking for a peaceful paddle and unbeatable fishing, Beason’s Crossing on the Colorado River near Columbus, TX is the spot. Calm waters make it perfect for easy kayaking, whether you’re a beginner or just out for a relaxing float. The real gem? The fishing – absolutely phenomenal. Big bites, beautiful scenery, and a laid-back Texas vibe. Can’t recommend it enough.

I like visiting this park to see the mighty Colorado River. The old bridges are cool. Basketball courts and soccer fields. Even enough space to hit a golf ball with a wedge.

Beautiful little park right on the Colorado. We had a light breakfast reception after my wedding here. It was pretty clean and the bathrooms were open and ok. There’s a nice little pavillion and plenty of parking. Lot’s of green grass and plenty to explore. I never called to reserve the pavilion but there were only a few others there this day. Nice views and a nice park.
