Park hours online say It closes at 9:00pm which is wrong. We had an officer approach us a little after 7 and said the park was closed and we had to leave. My kids love this little park.

We know this as the fire station park, although its map name is Venter’s park.-No restrooms, but there is a porta potty.-There is a small dog run, between the park and fire station. Entry from parking lot.-Park is fenced, and picnic tables are roofed.

Small family ran business. Just starting to get things rolling. They have a small convenience/gift store. RV and Tent camping sites. Very personable staff. Very affordable rates. And a charming tiny cabin for first timers. They do a craft with the kids on Saturday’s around the playground area. If you have forgotten something, there’s a chance they might just have a spare in the loaners corner. There’s public boat access to the Cape Fear a mile up the road. Nick’s Nook is the place to go if your interested in real camping and bring outdoors. Great way to reconnect with the family. Each site has a little fire pit and picnic table plus access to water.

Very peaceful and it’s not like other campgrounds where you’re right on top of each other. You’ve got a small yard-like area. They also have a nice little store, and they also bring your firewood to you for a fire pit. They have one for each spot, and the bathrooms are always clean. The workers are very friendly and kind.
