This is a very nice walking trail.. This is one of my defaults for taking a nice walk right in the middle of the city. It’s right in the middle of where two different trails now meet. Recently the city of Chicago and the village of Lincolnwood joined together to make a walking bridge across the canal to connect the trail that goes from Bryn mawr area up to the bridge and connects it with the McCormick path that goes all the way deep into Evanston. It’s a really cool bridge. It’s one of my favorites.

Great undiscovered spot with few people. When you are on the trails it feels like you are out of the city despite being several yards from the road. Be aware that it can be pretty muddy. I also saw a homeless encampment here.

Lots of potential here, but right now it seems like a vacant lot. It looks like the CPD has been salting the prairie to beef up what mother nature has missed. I bet it will be great in a few years.

The trails in the woods along the east side of the North Shore Channel are an unexpected joy in the city. It feels more like a forest preserve than a city park. Indeed, there isn’t much else to do besides hike among the trees. The grassy fields are rough and unfit for sports. It looks like they are in the process of adding wood chips to many of the trails.
