Nice camping spot. Owners are friendly and helpful people. Bathroom and shower clean.
My husband and I booked the hour long horseback ride on Thursday. We had a excellent experience. Our two guides were great. I was told that we would receive pictures and videos of our ride via email. Disappointed we have yet to receive these things yet. Truly excited to see our memories. Connie and Gary
We were planning to stay at their campsite. We have camped many times as a Family. This was one of the worst places I’ve ever seen to camp now I know their RV section is probably better but camping absolutely not. There are prickles everywhere so do not go barefooted the location and set up of parking lot to get all this camping stuff down to your spot is so hard to get to and so far And the weird post Don’t make it any easier. Not to mention because we understand the wild horses, but there is an astronomical amount of horse poop everywhere if you have family and dogs and are going down to the beach, make sure you wear steel toe boots everywhere you walk. Bathhouse is also two miles away and disguisting.
We love camping here because it quiet and not crowded. The staff are super helpful and friendly. The pull thru sites are somewhat close. The neighbors sewer hookup was next to our picnic table. They sprayed for mosquitoes one night but they were still abundant. The grass around the sites needed to be mowed. The beach is beautiful. If you want a quiet, water view, beautiful sunrise and sunsets site this is the place. But if you like to have some activities and places to eat out this is not for you
Best family time we had in a long time. Spent Father’s Day weekend here and it was great bathhouses clean beach was great kids loved how it was not crowded. Driving in we said we found the place to be away from the crowds and have some quiet time.we will definitely be back thank you for a great stay..
Cedar Island Ranch is like the gateway to the Outer Banks. Rural & INCREDIBLE!!! Pack your fridge with good food and go enjoy an absolutely stunning beach, beautiful bay, & the coolest horse back riding experience imaginable. This is rural so pack everything you need including all of your food. We camped with an RV on the bayside near the dock and fished from the back of our campsite, watched otters swim and enjoyed seeing fish, crab, & birds everyday from our campsite. The dog park is NICE!!! My favorite one so far for my sweet puppers: CLEAN & large. The beach is dog friendly, too – so he had the time of his life! The beach is not a far walk but there’s a parking lot so we drove with our chairs, parked there, and spent several hours on the sandbars/tiny islands that pop up when the tide is out.Watching the WILD CATTLE ON THE BEACH was insane!!! Do NOT skip the horse back ride: we went TWICE; both times the 90 minute ride with water crossing. Their horses are healthy, beautiful & well trained.Make reservations ahead of time for the Ferry & go see Ocracoke Island. The 2 hour ferry ride alone was worth it for the beautiful views and the island was very fun – had lots of restaurants, shops & sightseeing. This is a RELAXING vacay with plenty of variety from fishing to the beach, horse back riding, watching wild cattle, riding the ferry, watching otters, birds, and so forth. We will be back next year & can’t wait!!!
Very peaceful and it’s not like other campgrounds where you’re right on top of each other. You’ve got a small yard-like area. They also have a nice little store, and they also bring your firewood to you for a fire pit. They have one for each spot, and the bathrooms are always clean. The workers are very friendly and kind.
