FAQ for Mountain Empire Community Park in Campo California:
I went to community clean up day it was great.
Nice place to walk my dogs after visiting Mtn Health Community Ctr in Campo. Kiddos can play on a rubber matted playground where falling down won’t hurt so much. 5 stars if they’d offer poo bags to clean up after pets.
It’s a nice place, right next to the Sheriff’s Station, to park vehicles while taking a day hike on the PCT.
This is a clean and new park with good views of the surrounding area, including a little league ball field. You’ll appreciate the convenient parking lot, but note in advance that you’ll need to walk down the hill from the parking lot to get to the playground and ballfield. The playground equipment is clean and new, which helps to make up for the lack of a quality bathroom. (Only an outhouse is available for going #1 and #2.) On the day of our visit, nobody else was there and we had the entire park to ourselves. It felt that not very many locals are nearby, or really ever use the playground. So if you are visiting Campo and you have young children, be sure to stop by and enjoy it!
It would be nice to see such a lovely park used by more kids.
