The area is renowned for its wild blueberry patches, rocky outcrops with panoramic views, and peaceful woodland atmosphere. Hikers often remark on the quiet beauty, the opportunities for blueberry-picking, and the variety of terrain—perfect for a hike with your pet. Bring your own water and supplies, as there are no fountains or designated waste stations on site.
Pretty straight up hike. I would consider it a moderate to hard hike not for the length just because it’s going straight up. It is well marked and has some pretty views. Steep areas and with pine needles can make it dangerously slippery. I would recommend hiking poles for extra support, especially for the way down.
We brought our dogs and had no issues & I would say young children could do it, but may complain about the incline & coming down might be a bit challenging. Views at the tops were beautiful.

Ample street parking. Great hike. Plenty of wild blueberries to pick, when they are in season. The trail has steep, rocky areas that can be hazardous for children or less active people- hence the “hard” rating. The steep, rocky areas are slick when wet. The hike took 1-2 hours b/c we were picking blueberries for a while.

Always a great hike, short but challenging.

Front trail parking is alongside the road. I imagine the house up the way gets a lot of turnaround traffic at the end of it’s driveway. Hiking the front trail is an excellent challenge for the mind body and soul. Take it as slow or fast as you desire. Hiking the back trail from Kilgore Lane is a more easy hike with a steady incline for those who prefer an easier path. Both are great for families. A fun place to pick blueberries! The back side always takes longer for me as the trail is stretched out and the front is basically straight up. Both have beautiful scenery and I have twice through the years seen a hare. As there are two trails up one I rate moderate to hard pending the day and one easy. Rating is based on skill/hiking fitness level so what I view as such may not hold true for you.
Noth are out and backbtrails unless you leave one vehat each end you could hike up one side and down the other.
Happy hiking! Don’t forget water! and maybe a snack. 🙂
