Loved this place! What a beautiful vibe in a beautiful park! went there to see a movie in the park about the history of house music, put on by rooftop films. turned out I got to witness and experience a day long dance party, with people of every stripe talking hanging out dancing in the grass with the loud house music bumping the whole neighborhood starting at 2:00 in the afternoon. The movie started at 7:45 or 8:00 I think, once the sun was down and it was dark, but I went from being a happy skeptic to being once again blown away and enamored with New York City, and the people who call here home. we can do anything when we work together. And because I often complain and protest about abuses by the NYPD, I think it only fair and required of me that I mentioned there was some kind of serious incident right on the edge of the park involving concert goers and outsiders. The details aren’t as important as the facts that the heavy police response did not spill over into heavy-handedness and from all I can see and gather afterwards from those more directly involved, all of the cops were polite, professional and wanting to help. 🙏 I imagined what it would be like if these occurrences were the norm, New Yorkers hanging out in the park dancing, as free as if we’re on Riis Beach, and not only unafraid, but appreciative of the presence of helpful in NYPD officers. I was mesmerized a core group of fellow citizens dancing in the grass, right in front of the speakers, and the most beautiful and carefree gay boy in these green Daisy Duke shorts, And I commented to my friend JD, isn’t it a trip how just like 10 or 15 people dancing right there, not one of them is dancing like the person next to him or anyone else, and yet they all seen to know what they’re doing and they’re into it and having fun. JD’s much more cool than I am, he just smiled and said, “that’s what House music is.”

My local park. I love it so much. As a dog owner, and there are many of us nearby. This place is a haven for my pup. It’s Brooklyn though so it’s definitely had its moments of incidents with wild behavior from a person here or there. There is currently a police detail that operates a few times a day patrolling, as well as at night. But this place is a treasure. There are movie nights in the summer, festivals and community activities here. I love it.

In a area with plenty of things to do and very busy Brower Park in Brooklyn is very relaxing place to sit and enjoy a little quiet. Brower Park is the place for you if you want to escape the hustle and bustle. It’s surrounded by interesting buildings. It has 2 basketball courts a kids playground and public bathrooms that need a little bit of improvement in my honest opinion. The rest of the park is not too. It’s small with a grassy area in the middle. In the mornings bring their dogs to play before nine and turn it in an unofficial official dog run bc there are no dog runs in the area. In the a summer it’s a very frequented park right next door to the Brooklyn Children’s Museum and Bower Park Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library. If you don’t know the area you can say you found a hidden gem. To locals it’s a beloved and very frequented park also with a lot of shade for hot sunny days. An oasis or refuge from the noise in the middle of a historic Crown Heights, Brooklyn. I would highly recommend going to this park.

What a beautiful use of public space!! Lots of open grassland for sports or relaxation. 2 well kept basketball courts. A nice playground with jungly gym for the little ones. A public restroom that wasn’t disgusting to use and actually had hand soap! Lots of benches for sitting. Lots of trees to provide ample shade. Highly recommended!!

lovely basketball courts and lots of trees. open field for running. handball court, pollinator garden. one weird thing is that the playground seems to have only been half built. the metal pole structures are there but they’re missing all the things that would hook on to them that would be climbable/interactive
